Berkeley Glenn's Homework Policy
Homework is to provide meaningful reinforcement of curriculum objectives andskills taught, and it is an effective means of providing consistentcommunication between school and home.
Homework should be a review of skills taught during the classroom instructionaltime; therefore students should be able to complete homeworkindependently or with minimal assistance
It is important to complete and return homework assignments on time as homework will be checked.
Homework will be focused on SOLs and four core subjects: English, Math, Social Studies, and Science.
Each classroom teacher has an established routine for assigning homework. Ifparents have questions, they should contact their children's teachers.
If parents have concerns about excessive time that their child is spendingon their homework, they are encouraged to contact their children's teachers.
Daily reading (orally, silently, or with a parent/family member) is essential to student achievement and success.
